An Occupational Therapist’s view
Although the Pisces looks like the Gemini it is important to understand the clinical distinction. As with the Gemini this bath has a platform to assist with transfers or be used as a changing table, both of which can maximise independence and dignity whilst reducing risk.The distinct difference is that although the bath raises around the bather, therefore safely immersing them in water, the platform itself does not raise and lower.
The Pisces is therefore a perfect option for someone who needs support with transfers, whether that be hoisting or a standard lateral transfer but may not require as much ‘hands on’ care once in the bath.
