Discharge to assess has been applied widely across England since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, but this webinar will consider whether the application of the process has been consistent, productive and indeed safe.  We will reflect on the essence of D2A and how this either supports or hinders the therapeutic process.  Finally, we consider the impact on community-based services, using bathing as an example to demonstrate a spectrum of potential outcomes following the use of D2A in its true form.

  • Consider the aim of D2A and its impact on NHS/LA occupational therapy services
  • Review the legislation to reflect on D2A application nationally
  • Reflect on potential benefits and challenges to occupational therapy practice
