Abacus demonstration vehicle to showcase specialist baths at DFG Children Summit
Abacus Specialist Bathroom Solutions will be demonstrating its accessible baths at the Foundations’ DFG Children Summit on 27th June, Birmingham Conference and Events Centre.
Abacus is a proven specialist manufacturer of power-assisted baths for bathers with disabilities. Part of the Gainsborough Healthcare Group, Abacus focuses on delivering positive bathing outcomes for all through a clinical, assessment-led approach. Many of its bathing solutions are installed as part of a Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) which provide funding for accessibility adaptations in the home. In addition, Abacus offers a comprehensive education programme for healthcare and housing professionals so CPD hours can be gained for free. These seminars and workshops are supported by a fleet of Abacus demonstrations vehicles – one of which will be at the DFG Children Summit.
Organised by Foundations, the Body for Home Improvement Agencies (HIAs), Handyperson Services and DFGs in England, the DFG Children Summit represents the ideal opportunity for Abacus to showcase its specialist bathing excellence. Ryan Wilkes, Abacus National Sales Manager comments:
“Our Product Assessment Managers are looking forward to all aspects of the Foundations’ DFG Children Summit. As we are dedicated to providing specialist accessible baths to children with disabilities, it is essential that DFG provision is strengthened across the UK. On a daily basis our team witnesses the challenges faced by families seeking funding for assistive equipment. We all have a duty of care to ensure children can bathe safely at home so life can be enhanced through hygiene, therapy and peace of mind. This is why we believe attending the Summit is essential so all professionals and stakeholders can get together to drive DFG innovation and hence more positive outcomes can be achieved.
Ryan concludes:
“Our educational vehicle will be a hub for accessible bath demonstrations and guidance on all aspects of bathroom equipment provision through a DFG. Delegates will have the opportunity to book free CPD seminars in any location of their choice along with hands-on bath trials in our vehicles. Combined with our 360-degree bathroom service, the Summit will once again highlight how and why Abacus is 100% committed to delivering safe, future proofed bathing for children with disabilities.”
