Kidz North to showcase popular accessible baths from Abacus
1st November 2022, 9.30am – 4.30pm.
Manchester Central, Manchester, M2 3GX. Stand B16.
Abacus is one of the most prominent and long-standing supporters of the Kidz events. Its exhibition stand always provides a welcoming and engaging showcase to see and experience the latest in assisted bathing. Alongside the opportunity to get hands-on with specialist baths from Abacus, its friendly assessors will be available to discuss individual needs on a one-to-one basis. To further help Occupational Therapists and families, the Abacus team will be providing expert guidance on many topics ranging from Disabled Facilities Grants to moving and handling best practice. In terms of power assisted baths, the following products will be on display:
Gemini hi-lo platform bath range
The Gemini 1700 and 2000 unique dual lift baths provide 3-in-1 powered solutions for bathing, drying and changing. These standard and extra length models deliver easy bather transfers, an integrated platform and two-stage elevation for enhanced carer access. With specialist BioCote antimicrobial technology built in, the Gemini is the trusted choice for many parents and Occupational Therapists seeking a bathing solution for assured care, safety and dignity.
On stand B16, friendly and experienced assessors from Abacus will be providing live demonstrations of the future-proofed Gemini 2000. The Gemini 2000 is longer, wider and deeper hence delivering a comfortable and engaging experience for growing children and developing adults. Features include a movable divider for adaptable bathing space, an integrated anti-entrapment sensor and sensory options such as sound, light and Air Spa
Aries hi-lo hoist access bath range
Alongside the Gemini 2000, the new larger Aries 2000 will be on display at Kidz North. Designed for use with ceiling track and mobile hoists, the Aries range provides safe bathing for individuals who require greater support.
The Aries 2000 offers the most spacious solution in the range hence providing long term value and the ability to sustain space-appropriate bathing for longer. It has many smart integrated features such as safe edge technology to eliminate entrapment risks, thermostatic and autofill options and sensory accessories include sound, light and Air Spa. Kate Sheehan, Occupational Therapist regards the Aries as a considered choice as she says: “The larger Aries provides older children and adults with the ideal environment for relaxation and pain relief. It can be used as part of a sleep hygiene programme to improve quality of sleep.”
